ILOILO CITY (PNA) — Close to 5,700 jobs will be available to jobseekers on Labor Day Job Fair on May 1 at SM City Mall here, according to Labor and Employment 6 OIC Director Manuel C. Roldan.
Roldan said to date, 50 local companies, one government and 22 overseas recruitment agencies have already submitted their vacancies and he is expecting for more companies to join in this year’s Labor Day Job Fair.

For local employment, 642 job openings in Philippines will be available for finance tellers, finance assistant, purchaser, accounting staff, sales and marketing staff, food & beverages, engineering personnel, bank branch managers, roving teller, pharmacist, teachers, auditors, encoder, human resource managers, food technologist, civil engineer, marketing professionals, paint mix room in charge, and drivers.
Also, there will be openings for refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians, information technologist, credit appraiser, loan assistants, bookkeeper, account specialist, company nurse, delivery driver, Stock clerks, sales clerks, customer service associates, store operations, baggers, and secretary.
Most of the jobs are from companies engaged in wholesale and retail industry like Karat World, F & C Jewelry, Our Lady of Lourdes Enterprises, SM City Iloilo, SM Department Store & Supermarket-Mandurriao, SM Appliance & Supermalls, Ace Hardware Philippines, The baby Specialist, Our Home, Homeworld Shopping Corp., A.M. Builders’ Depot, Hypermarket, Sandford Marketing, Save More Jaro 2, Kultura, and Watson’s Personnel Care Stores (Phils.) Inc.
Likewise from companies engaged in banking and finance like Taytay Sa Kauswagan, Inc., Valiant Bank, JGM Finance Corporation Jaro Branch, OK Bank and East-West Banking Corp., and from hotels and restaurants industry like Sarabia Manor Hotel & Convention Center, Yellow Cab, Jollibee, Shakeys, Aguillon Italia, Inc. (Max’s Restaurant) and Villa Rosa By The Sea.
Other participating companies are Our Lady of Lourdes Enterprises, University of Iloilo-PHINMA,Face Value Facial & Spa Center, MMSM Delgado Human Resource, EVZ Pharmacy, J & R Family Digital Studio, Santa Clarita International School, F & E Enterprises, Inc., AC Distributors, Insular Life Assurance Co, and Micro Ensure Philippines.
For overseas employment, more than 5,000 job openings are at stake for engineers, nurses, construction workers, pipe fitters, riggers, cooks, restaurant managers, factory workers, millwright, restaurant workers and electricians, among others.
Roldan advised job applicants to pre-register with PhilJobnet at www.phil-job.net, the government’s online job and skills matching portals, or visit the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Iloilo City and PESO-Iloilo Province for manual registration.
